Yesterday, i had the "lovely" experience of having a physical. I have to be honest, I love my doctor--he's awesome. His staff however, not so much, but I continue to go to this doctor because I like him! So, here I was at the Dr's office. Not especially looking forward to the physical, not really happy that they had mis-scheduled my appointment the previous week, and to make matters (and my attitude) worse, the office was filled with this overwhelming pine scent that was giving me a headache. ***Side note-- Business owners, please make a mental note here...your client's want their senses tickled, not attacked!--very important*** Anyway, the nurse called me to the back. He took all my measurements without saying a word. (another side note--he didn't even tell me that my vision was 20/20 in both eyes--pretty darn good for 35!! :) By this time, I was having such a miserable time! Anyway, let me spare you the details to get to the main point--the P.A. The physicians assistant came in. Within 20 minutes or so, she had completely transformed my entire attitude towards this experience! She was friendly and funny, and talked to me like a real person...she taught me what she was doing as she was checking my lymph nodes, thyroids, etc... and made me laugh in between. She was so personable and easy to relate to that she actually put my negative experience and serious considerations about switching to another Dr behind me and I was ready to move forward! I liked her so much and the experience so much that I actually left with a smile on my face. As I left the office, I was struck by this....the power of one person. That one person completely changed my perception and my experience and my attitude. She held great power in her hands and used it wisely. So, I encourage you, whatever you do, do it with all your heart, whether it's hammering nails or teaching children or even taking photographs! You hold the power to be "The One" that can bring a smile to a person's face or turn their day around for the better. Be the One!! Onward, Julie
