Isn't it ironic how two people can grow up in the same small town, know many of the same people and still never meet until just the right time? Well, that's what happened to Leah and Tanner, the only thing is that they both had to move away to San Francisco to actually meet and find out that they were both from Napa! It's truly amazing how life's twists and turns lead us to the exact places that we need to be....like Leah working in the same sushi restaurant that Tanner's sister worked at. Over a period of years after that, their relationship has grown and developed into a proposal on Christmas Eve of 2008! Leah and Tanner are such a sweet and fun loving couple. As you'll see, they both have great smiles and can make each other laugh so hard (and us too!) When I think of them now, I always picture them smiling! We had a great time getting to know them better and seeing their relationship in action on this engagement shoot. As you know, we always try to incorporate specific things that are meaningful to each couple into their engagement sessions. We know that each couple is unique, so we do try to bring something new to the table every time, something that is special and specific to who they are. With that, we started out at one of Leah and Tanner's favorite wineries, Sullivan Winery, where Tanner knows the owner. It's a very quaint winery, but beautifully kept and they have great wine too! I would highly recommend a visit to Sullivan. We were also so fortunate that both Tanner and Leah's dad love cars and let us borrow their sweet rides for the shoot! Tanner was driving his dad's gorgeous mustang around during the day and later we picked up Leah's dad's beautiful Nova too! I must say a special thank you to Tanner and Damion for your chivalrous acts. This day, the temperature was 96 degrees HOT and our men were so sweet to let us ride in the car with the air conditioning so that we wouldn't melt. Thank you guys! (although I suspect their ulterior motive was to be riding in the cool mustang with the wind blowing through their hair too.... :) We ended our shoot in downtown Napa, perched high over the city, just us, Leah & Tanner, and the cars (..and of course the security guy who kept driving by to make sure we weren't causing trouble). Leah & Tanner, it was a pleasure to get to know you both and we are really looking forward to your wedding (which will be coordinated by the awesome Jennifer Stone of Joie de Vivre!). Your friends and family must be truly happy for you as it is easy to see that you both belong together! Here are a few of our favorites from the session and don't forget to check out the slideshow at the end!!! Enjoy!
This picture shows exactly what I see in my mind when I think of Leah and Tanner! Big, beautiful smiles :)
