It's truly amazing how much work goes into planning and executing a wedding or special event! I started thinking about this last week after we received a 7 PAGE (count them.....7 pages) detailed outline of an event from the amazingly talented Rebecca Feeney of Custom Event Group, where she completely builds the special event from the ground up...and I mean from the ground up. Reflecting on the organization of an event like this, which includes the services of over 30 vendors, and this timeline, designed to make sure that everyone works together like clockwork and that every detail is covered, now more than ever, I appreciate the behind the scenes work that goes into making weddings and events beautiful! Your vendors, including the caterers, the bakers, the rental companies, the officiant, the entertainment, the florist, the photographer :), and the others that I didn't mention, all spend countless unseen hours behind the scenes to make sure that everything looks the way it is supposed to and (hopefully!) goes smoothly on your special day! I know for us as photographers, for every hour that we are actually photographing a wedding, we can put in up to 8 times as many hours behind the scenes to cover everything from the engagements through designing and delivering the wedding album. I saw this video today by Doug McGoldrick that condenses two days of a florist's wedding preparations into four minutes and I tell ya, it really made me appreciate all of the work that they put into it! Hope you enjoy and be sure to thank those vendors for all that they do....they work hard for the money!!
two days with Hello Darling from doug mcgoldrick on Vimeo.
