The Montoro Family
by Damion Hamilton | in uncategorized

During our trip to Napa this past Nov/Dec we did so much, met so many new people, took so many pictures, I'm still blogging about it.  One family we were blessed to be invited to join for dinner was the Montoro family.  Leslie Montoro (previously Teeters) and I went to Vintage High School (Go Crushers!!) together.  She was in Choir, I was in band...but wished I could have done choir too.  Her Father Fred Teeters actually went to Napa High school with my father back in the early 1960's. Her brother Mark Teeters is now the Vintage High School Choir director too!! (and was just awarded CA Teacher of the Year 2008!)   Well...my family and I got to enjoy Leslie, her husband Don, and their three children for a time of laughing, sharing, eating, drinking and just enjoying where our lives have gone after 15 years.

Thank you Leslie and Don for opening up your home to us and our kiddos.  It was wonderful to see the great blessings of your lives and to get to know you better.   Hope to see you again soon!

Of course playing dress-up + more Webkins and Polly Pockets than you can imagine was the order of the evening for the kids!

Yummy pumpkin pie with homemade whipped cream...who can pass that up??

We ending the evening with a riveting piano concert featuring pianists Miranda Hamilton and Jack Montoro.

Remembering Your Mom
by Julie Hamilton | in uncategorized

There is something special about moms.  No matter what your relationship is with your mom, there is something deep inside of us that longs for the love of a mother, whether it's a mother who brought you to life in her body or just brought you to life by teaching you and raising you up to be the person that you are.  Today marks the 2nd anniversary of losing Damion's mom, Amie, and while we are thrilled that she is no longer in pain here on earth, it's a weird feeling not to have your mother around, the one who has known you 9 months longer than anyone else on this earth :)  So, on this day, I'm posting a beautiful picture of Amie from when she was younger as a reminder of this:  No matter what your relationship with your mom is like, she holds a place in your life that no one else can fill. Just take a few moments today and give your mom a call.  Tell her that you appreciate her and love her.  It will make her day.

PS:  Don't forget the other women in your life who have loved you too :)
