Levi & Jessica

Our latest wedding and final for 2006 was just a blast!!
We boarded the "Camelot", a 140 foot, 5 deck, "Party house on water" in Newport Beach, CA ready to set sail for a wonderfully romantic cruise. This was the first wedding we had photographed on water and Julie and I were totally excited!!

You saw Jessica and Levi in an earlier post in Nov where we photographed them and their wedding party down in Corona Del Mar. We did this because we where limited to boarding the boat on their wedding day at 4:30pm (1/2 hour before sunset) and we knew we would have ZERO avaliable light! This worked out perfectly because there was definitely no light once the ceremony began at 6:00pm. This too, was the first ceremony we've ever photographed entirely using flash! A challenge it was...but BRING IT ON!!!!! :)

We have personally known Levi for 10 years and Jessica for about 6 years. It has been such an honor and blessing to see the two of them mature into the wonderful man and woman they are today. We actually used to have Levi in our 5th & 6th grade Sunday school class at church, so this post is making me feel old in my YOUNG 32 years! :) Regardless, they were such incredibly fun and lovable people to be around, and we were so blessed that they chose us to be a part of their special day.

Well, here are a few of our favorites from their wedding and if you want to see a few more, Click Here for their SLIDESHOW!

Preparing for baby

Yesterday we were blessed with a Saturday that had no real commitments attached to it. Yeah!! So with only 9 weeks until our due date, and a full day avaliable to us, we got to start preparing for the arrival of our newest edition.

So we headed down to the local Babies 'R' Us to begin our registry and also to get back into the groove of the latest baby technologies. You see, our oldest daughter is now 6 1/2 years old, so its been awhile since we have had to handle a baby carrier/carseat, stroller, play pen, diapers, bottles etc. So this was definately a new learning experience in itself.

We purchased a new Canon point-&-Shoot camera that takes pretty good video for a little camera and took it with us so we could put together a quick video of our adventure!

Are you inspired?

I was reading Mike Colón's Blog yesterday and I came across this quote. I was so glad because I remember watching the movie "Akeelah and The Bee" (which was an wonderful movie, you must rent and watch!) and trying to remember who it was written by so I could remember it when I got home. Well...I forgot. Shocking huh! :) But here it is now. Hopefully it will INSPIRE you!!

"Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. It is our light, not our darkness that frightens us most. We ask ourselves, ‘Who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented and famous?’ Actually, who are you not to be? You are a child of God. Your playing small does not serve the world. There is nothing enlightened about shrinking so that people won’t feel insecure around you. We were born to manifest the glory of God that is within us. It’s not just in some of us; it’s in everyone. And when we let our light shine,we unconsciously give other people permission to do the same. As we are liberated from our own fear, our presence automatically liberates others."~Marianne Williamson, American author and lecturer

Jessica & Levi

Today we had the blessing of heading down to Corona Del Mar for an engagment/wedding party shoot for Jessica and Levi. Hard to believe it was such a beautiful day in November--clear blue skies, about 70 degrees, and not very many people. We are so lucky to live near such a gorgeous place! These are the days when you feel lucky to be a photographer!

This photo shoot with Jessica and Levi and their wedding party was so fun! Jessica and Levi are a hoot because they're so spontaneous and energetic...Levi wanted to have everybody jump in the water at the same time and shoot it! It's awesome when you work with people who aren't afraid to climb all over rocks or sit in the dirt. Just makes for a great time. CLICK HERE TO SEE THEIR ENTIRE SLIDESHOW.

We are so excited about their upcoming wedding in two weeks. It's going to be a great day and we'll keep you posted with more photos from the wedding.

Thanks Jessica and Levi and everybody else for being so fun. We had a great time with you! We love you all so much!

Love,

Website almost finished

Well it looks like we are coming down to the home stretch on our new website. We hope to have it finished and go live in Dec!! My wife always says I'm terrible at keeping surprises, which is why when I buy gifts for her birthday or anniversary, I can barely wait for the day to come around and end up giving her the gift 1 or 2 days before. I just can't take the anticipation!!!! :) So...I'm gonna try and hold out here and this photo is all we can share at this time because we want the final reveal to be a big surprise.

We are trying to take a new approach of allowing our future clients to get to know us before they actually meet us. This will be made possible by our amazing designers, Daniel & Cindy at Artesian Design Group and the best video guy out there, Jason Royer with Innovation Media. The incredible web site design from Daniel along with Jason's awesome video work has taken our new site to a level we never imagined. Thank you all. We appreciate you being such a big part of the vision God has for our business. We love you all so much and so much admire the talent God has blessed you with.

Gratefully yours,
Damion & Julie Hamilton
